B&M in the Sunday Times!
Brook and Mayo has reached a new national level of media coverage!
John Stopper, Business Development Manager said: “We contributed to an article in the Sunday Times Business Section on Sunday 13th January. We were asked to comment on the ongoing issue of duplication and bureaucracy in respect of Health & Safety in the Construction Industry. We are all waiting for further moves from the Government to simplify the paper trail and reduce the demand for so many approval schemes. Brook & Mayo is approved by Constructionline, CHAS and Safecontractor as well as holding registration with RESET. Come on folks, surely that’s enough! ”
Simon Beardsley, Chief Executive at the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “I’d like to thank John Stopper and his team at Brook and Mayo for supporting the proactive marketing that the Lincolnshire Chamber is doing with the national media to raise the profile of the county. “John was invited to contribute to a national businesses story being written by The Sunday Times. From experience, I know that journalists, especially on national publications, seek out the most credible businesses to enhance their stories. And they could not have found a better candidate than John or Brook and Mayo.”

Brook & Mayo is awarded accreditation under Safecontractor
This SSIP award is a leading Third Party accreditation scheme which recognises very high standards in Health & Safety Management amongst
UK contractors. We have for some time carried approval by other SSIP member organisations, CHAS and Constructionline.
We believe these three approvals more than illustrate our strong credentials with regard to Health, Safety and the Environment and that clients making supplier assessments will be reassured by these approvals and shall be able to avoid the need for future duplication
in the area of sub contractor assessment

B&M Achieves Green Status
Announcement: Brook and Mayo achieves full Green approval on Third Party Accredited Environmental Management System
In our recent News Letter Brook and Mayo made the public pledge to support the environment by working with Sustain Lincolnshire and Peterborough Environmental City Environment Trust to work towards the Investors In the Environment award (IIE). After 6 months of hard work, implementing Environmental Management Systems, ensuring policies are implemented and adhered to, creating action plans to reduce our impact on the environment and working towards a 2% reduction in our energy usage and waste impact we are proud to announce we have been awarded premier level Green status
We do not rest on our laurels there, the scheme is reappraised and audited annually and we have pledged to continue working to a minimum of 2% reduction on our energy resources and waste impact for 2013. This is not only saving Carbon and natural resources , it is also providing us with efficiency savings which in these tough times allows us to remain competitive within the market by passing on savings to our customers whilst still delivering an exceptionally high standard of workmanship and with the added benefit of reduced environmental impact.

Brook and Mayo goes Enviro-Mental!
Brook and Mayo’s company colours have always been green but now we have decided to take it a step further and live up to our branding and GO GREEN. We have now pledged with Sustain Lincolnshire and Peterborough Environmental City Trust to become an environmentally friendly company. We are working towards achieving the Investors in the Environment ‘Green accreditation’.
In order to achieve the accreditation we will have to show a reduction in our energy usage over a period of two years as well as write a full action plan on how we will continue to reduce our impact on the environment. This is a huge undertaking for Brook and Mayo, but we feel it is an important one as pressure to be environmentally friendly is ever increasing on companies and we want to do it!
Brook and Mayo also pledges to take part in Zero waste week in November and staff are doing volunteer work to help the rainforests in their spare time. Committed? We should be!

PETERBOROUGH BRANCH MOVE IN AND CELEBRATE 1 YEARS SUCCESS
Brook and Mayo launched the Peterborough Branch one year ago and now celebrates with a ribbon cutting and cake eating session as we move into the permanent offices on the newly built business Park.
The premises provide stylish and practical accommodation with a contemporary look. It is hard to believe that they have been developed from a onetime timber yard. After a year of successful trading Chris Gray, Branch Manager glees delightfully “It has been a challenging and rewarding year as we have completed several jobs including the electrical installation at the new Lindum Park Premises, now we have our permanent residence I feel that we shall continue to develop and prosper.”

Continuing our ongoing commitment to our apprenticeship programme, we are pleased to announce that Kristian Berzins has been enrolled as our newest recruit. Kristian has joined us full time after completing his first year at college. Despite difficult trading, we see our ongoing commitment to our apprentices as key to the future development of the company. Peterborough Branch Opened
For the first time in it’s 42 year history, Brook & Mayo has now expanded on it’s Lincolnshire roots with a new and additional operating location in Peterborough.
We consider that the Peterborough area has considerable potential for our company to provide a wide range of electrical services to contractors and to end users. Chris Gray has joined us as Branch Principle and he brings substantial experience of the Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and South Lincolnshire markets having spent a number of years managing electrical works in the area. Chris can’t wait to get to grips with his new role and says “Helping a strong and respected established company like Brook & Mayo take it’s renowned expertise to Peterborough is an exiting prospect and such opportunities don’t come along every day!”
